Exercise is for the birds....or the bird-legged I should say. Seriously. It's like intense pain.
While I was home, I walked the Reservoir, which is 2 1/2 miles with my Mom -- no-prob-lemo. And I don't mean that I was just moseying along, I walked that shit, legit. So, when I came back to Boone and the gym, I thought "I can totally do more than a mile on the elliptical." W-R-O-N-G. Now, I did do it faster then previously, but not without this intense, burning pain in my legs -- my fat-ass thighs to be exactly.
I was semi-alright last night. I went to the gym when I got back to Boone [and then made a fabulous dinner, thanks to my Mama] took a shower and was ok. But then, I woke up this morning with the plague....and I mean the plague. I can't breathe, I can't taste, I can't swallow and I have a sore throat. But, as I told my kids tonight at work 'I've been making excuses for 25 years, and I can't stop now.' So, I went to the damn gym.
5 steps in -- oh my god. Burn. But, you know, I persevered. I did the whole mile in 12 minutes. But, then, I got home.....and I walked up the stairs. I didn't make it. I fell 5 steps in, and had to sit there for a minute.
I keep on trucking though, albeit a little [ok maybe a lot] slower.
